This elegant pool has been designed specifically for the purpose of exercise and swim training. Its 16 metre length makes for enough distance to make lap swimming possible and the 4.5 metre width is generous enough to allow at least three or four people to swim laps comfortably without feeling crowded.

The pool has been finished in an imported white pebble with blue waterline tiles. The pool coping is of terracotta tiles which form a spacious walkway around three sides of the pool, including an efficient space adjacent to the spa for an outdoor table setting.

Consistent with the specific design of this pool are a number of important features. The pool is almost a constant depth pool, with a gentle gradient allowing a change of depth of 1 metre to 1.2 metres. For ease of maintenance, the pool is a salt water pool with sand filtration. To enable all year round use, the pool is equipped with solar heating which is supplemented by gas heating for the months with shorter hours of daylight. The entire area has been fully enclosed, to allow use in any weather.

There are no underwater steps or ledges to interfere with lap swimming. Entry to the pool is gained by two stainless steel ladders, which serve to enhance the functionality of the design. The spa is slightly elevated above the pool and has been designed to be perfectly complimentary to it. The spa has been finished in the same blue tiles as the pool down to and including the seat. The spa coping is terracotta allowing it to blend perfectly with the paved area. Equipped with gas heating, air blower and 6 jets instead of the usual 4, this spa offers a higher degree of comfort for those who really need it.

The design concept of this pool is obvious from the outside. It has been built to serve a specific purpose yet there has been no compromise on aesthetic appeal. There is an elegance and symmetry to its form and finish which make this pool more that just a place to exercise, it is a statement of commitment to good health, good living and a good life.
