Set on an expansive, sloping property in Sydney’s Hills District, this swimming pool was designed to take advantage of the sprawling site and the natural bushland area, and to enhance the extensive outdoor entertaining / leisure areas of the large family home. The pool is 15m x 6m, with a long step area, and it ranges in depth from 1m at the shallow end to 1.7m at the deep end.

To create a distinctive and elegant feature, a 1200mm sheer descent water feature is built into the stacked stone wall, and glass fencing ensures the views over pool, the carefully landscaped gardens and the bushland aren’t impaired.

Integrating the pool with the home was vital, and light-toned stone coping was chosen to blend both with the pavers used in the outdoor living and entertaining areas plus the home’s exterior paint scheme. The pool interior is finished in a Sunrise Mica finish with a blue fleck, and there are blue feature waterline tiles. At night, the pool is illuminated by Aquaquip Aquastar lighting.

The pool is heated via heat pump technology, and is cleaned via an in-floor cleaning system (steps and ledges) and Jet Vac pool cleaner. The pool equipment is housed in a specially constructed utilities room.
